Dr. Richard Ferguson is a PhD physicist who has served as CEERT’s Research Director for more than ten years. During this time he has overseen CEERT sponsored research projects and developed technical and policy analyses for presentation to California energy regulatory agencies.
Dr. Ferguson has served on several state and regional boards and committees, including the Board of Governors of the California Power Exchange, the Working Group on Intermittent Resources of the California Independent System Operator, and the Air Pollution Prevention Forum of the Western Regional Air Partnership.
He currently serves as chair of the Tehachapi Transmission Study Group formed by the California Public Utilities Commission. Dr. Ferguson also has published several technical articles including three authoritative reports on North American natural gas markets that are available on the CEERT web site.
